Patterns in the sand - Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado

Great Sand Dunes

with Arizona Highways PhotoScapes

October 10 -13, 2019

Join travel and adventure photography Michael DeYoung on this four day photography workshop as he takes you on a photographic immersion of dunes, fall colors and stunning mountain peaks.

A workshop has a much more structured itinerary that is more about learning techniques and fundamentals than about the location, although the location can be critical to creating the right environment for what the workshop strives to teach. A workshop includes lecture and classroom time, field demonstrations, group location shoots, student assignments and critique sessions. Currently, Active Photo Tours isn’t offering any photo workshops.

Zion & Grand Staircase-Escalante Southwest Utah Photo Tour

October 27 – November 2, 2019

Capture some of the most inspiring and colorful scenery in Southwestern Utah during this week long tour featuring both iconic and lesser known, but just as majestic, locations that afford the best photographic views and experiences found in the region.

A tour is location specific and is primarily about getting the best images possible by taking participants to locations at the best times and lighting. On location, we offer advise on how to best capture the scene(s) we are at. A photo tour usually starts with a 2-3 hour orientation on logistics and how to best capture the subject matter that we will see on the tour. Our focus is to motivate and facilitate creative and technical growth. Time and energy permitting, we try to have at least one constructive critique session.
