This introductory intensive program includes 7 one-hour live interactive video sessions over a 30 day period that includes Keynote presentations and valuable evaluation and constructive critique of homework and assignments. Michael will customize and tailor this series to your specific interests and goals. If you remain mindful that there is no “easy button” or “fast track” to success Michael is here to get you on the right path to becoming a successful professional outdoor photographer and/or seeing more of your work published.
There are many resources available about how to sell your outdoor photos professionally to other businesses from reputable sources in the form of books, videos and blogs. But even today, nothing replaces live, interactive learning as the BEST WAY to learn a multi faceted skill set such as turning your photography into a business. If you are serious about turning pro, even part time, live learning with mentorship and accountability will get you there the fastest.
Michael taught the Business of Outdoor Photography at Rocky Mountain School of Photography’s Pro Studies Program for 7 years and a similar week-long Going Pro workshop for Arizona Highways Photoscapes for 3 years. Session 3: Working with photo editors, making proposals and submissions.
Session 4: Determine and learn the value of your work: pricing and negotiating for different markets
Session 5: Establishing a business presence: websites, marketing and promotion.
Session 6: Best practices, workflow and business.
