OFF HIGHWAY EXCURSIONS
There are plenty of great landscape and some wildlife photography opportunities off Alaska roads, highways and hiking trails, even right from Anchorage. Charter planes, helicopters and small boats drive up trip costs but also bring you to stunning and unique places not possible to reach any other way and thus seen and photographed by fewer people. Please indicate any excursions you are interested in.
BEARS Any reliable locations that maximizes potential for good bear photography involves bush plane (sometimes boat). For day trips that maximize photography and not just “viewing” estimated costs are $3500+. Overnight or multi-day at a remote lodge will be more.
HELICOPTERS Offer fantastic glacier centric landscape shoots, summer, fall and winter, to really cool glacier features and remote ridges with stunning views, and aerial landscapes with doors off. Expect $1200-$2500 for several hours depending upon location.
CUSTOM BOAT CHARTER We use small, fast charter boats with covered heated cabins from licensed and reputable vendors to access fantastic coastal landscape locations and marine wildlife. These are usually 8-10 hour excursions and prices range from $1800-$2600.
BODY WEIGHT Weights are for any air travel, either bush plane or helicopter and there are limits to how much a small aircraft can carry. We use these to determine what type of aircraft are needed or how many. Air taxi operations WILL weigh you and your gear. Inaccurate weights could result in higher charter costs so please be as accurate as possible. Please enter approximate weight of all participants in your group, separated by commas.
SHOE SIZE This is for some bear viewing venues. Lodges loan waterproof boots to guests. If we are not including a remote bear viewing venue then no need to answer
